Watches are an accessory that have been around for centuries. Before purchasing a watch, however, sit down and think about the purpose for your watch. Will you be using your watch as a fashionable accessory? Will your watch serve to help you log your running time? Will you simply be using your watch to notate the time? Once you figure out the sole purpose of your watch you are then ready to move on to the next step: choose a watch with a style suitable for its purpose.

Luxury Watches

Names that you will hear when searching for a luxury, or designer watch, include Movado, Cartier, TAG Heuer, and Baume & Mercier. Each of these brands is known for their distinct craftsmanship and high quality watches. These timepieces are an investment; you will spend several thousand dollars for a luxury watch and will be able to use this watch for many years to come. While there are some individuals that may indeed wear a luxury watch on a day to day basis, many men store these keepsakes in safes and vaults and wear them on luxurious occasions.

Diamond Watches as Jewelry

A watch can transcend two genres'accessories and jewelry. Precious gemstones like diamonds, pearls, and rubies instantly transform a simple watch into a stunning piece of jewelry. The inherent beauty of a Bulova diamond watch is exquisite and breathtaking. Bulova diamond watches will turn heads and garner compliments; yet a Bulova watch isn't flamboyant or gaudy.

Trendy Watches

Current men's watch trends include large faces, bright colors, rubber bands, stainless steel framework, and dual time features. Trendy watches include those from Swatch, Seiko, and Mark Ecko. Trendy watches can be worn with casual attire or dressy attire depending on the style of watch. A rubber Swatch watch goes well with casual street attire, while a large face multiple dial Mark Ecko watch can be worn with a business suit. Other trendy watches include those from Guess,Cartier Le Baiser du Dragon Charm Rose Gold Necklace, Kenneth Cole, and Fossil. Some men note that men over the age of 30 should avoid trendy watches, and focus on classic watches with value.

Sport Watches

Athletes need durable sturdy watches to withstand all sorts of extreme weather conditions and actions. Watches by Timex, Casio, and Nike may not be as stylish as other watches but they get the job done. Seiko and Swiss Army don't sacrifice style or durability; Swiss Army has watches with multiple features and perfect for any sport.

Tip

A gentleman should have a minimum of three watches: a watch with a leather strap, a metal watch, and a sports watch.

Watch Levels

Level 1 Fossil, Guess,Cartier stores for womens on sale, Kenneth Cole

Level 2 Citizen Bulova, Esq

Level 3 Tag Heuer, Movado, Gucci

The Perfect Fit

Watches that do not fit properly (too tight or too big) do not look becoming. Watches with leather bands can be easily adjusted to your comfort level. Watches with links can have links taken out or added. Before adjusting your watch's band, read the owner's manual or visit a professional jeweler.

As we mentioned previously, a watch is an investment. Purchase a watch based on your needs and priorities. Research before making your decision to ensure that the watch you choose is perfect for you.
